permission to scare

Ickis is here to scare. It's who he is, it's what he does. He's not always the best at it, but dang it, he tries!
Ickis appears mostly at night, but sometimes during the day — especially if it's some kind of special occasion that'd be worth a good scare. He usually travels by sewer, popping out of the toilet, sink or shower, but may crawl in through your window, chimney, or even slip in through the door behind you! He lurks in the dark, under your bed, inside the closet, behind the curtain... and just at the right moment, he leaps out and looms, growing exponentially to a terrifying size, raising razor-sharp claws above his head, his eyes filling with blood, and his long fangs dripping as he roars menacingly at your poor, unsuspecting character. He means absolutely no harm, nothing physical or traumatizing or dangerous. He's here just to give them a right scare — he'll never hurt anyone, and will only scare them once, as a rule. He's mostly in it for the thrills, but scaring is the essence of monster existence. It's in his blood. However, Ickis himself is pretty easily scared — it's very possible your character might scare him before he even gets the chance to scare them! It's also likely they may even become friends after. The possibilities are endless, and that's where the fun lies.
I understand that some characters may not react well to being scared, or that some players just wouldn't rather deal with it. The emotional impact, as far as the crystal amulet goes, should only be mild — Ickis's scares are not psychologically tormenting typically, they're often more like jump scares. It shouldn't drastically negatively impact any character (unless you want it to, of course!); but if your character is already in an emotionally vulnerable state and should not be scared, I will avoid them. I will only comment on threads that seem apparently appropriate to scare, and/or if I have already contacted the player asking for permission.
If you'd like to unanimously volunteer yourself to be scared — or announce your character as off-limits — please comment here. If you'd like to plot scares together, I'm also happy to brainstorm here. If you have any questions, let me know! Looking forward to terrifying you. Thanks!
